Ben Channell, Band Director
Ben Channell currently serves as Director of Bands and Performing Arts Department Chair at Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Tennessee. A graduate of Tullahoma High School, Mr. Channell earned his Undergraduate Degree in Music Education from Lipscomb University. He is in his 13th year of teaching—he spent his first four years as the Director of Bands at Winfree-Bryant Middle School while serving as the Assistant Director with the Lebanon High School Band.
Under his direction, the Lebanon High School Band has received numerous accolades, awards, and superior ratings at assessments, festivals and contests. Mr. Channell is an active performer, composer, and arranger— having the privilege of premiering several works in the Middle Tennessee area. Since 2019, he has also served MTSBOA and TnMEA in various roles. In addition to his love of composition, music and education, Mr. Channell enjoys golf, hiking, biking, kayaking, and all things gaming. He currently resides in Wilson County, TN with his wife, Liz, and three dogs: Pumpkin, Braxton, and Theo.
Max Amoss IV, Assistant Band Director
Max Amoss joined the Lebanon Band in 2018 as assistant band director. Dr. Amoss is an aspiring administrator who loves learning and aspiring students and colleagues to achieve their best. With 13 years of experience, Dr. Amoss has taught grades K-12, assisted and coordinated trips, contests, and performances. Dr. Amoss has dedicated his life to giving students the best education possible, and credits his family as a major a motivator. His hobbies include running, spending time outside, and sharing new experiences.
